A twin-engine Cessna 431 crashed into a house in Oakland Park, Florida, Saturday around 11.20 am within a few minutes after it took off from the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, about a mile from the crash site. The pilot, 80-year old Cecil A. Murray died and the house owner Oscar Nolasco’s nephew narrowly escaped the doom as he had just left the house to visit an aunt, minutes before the crash. The plane was headed to Fernandina Beach, outside Jacksonville and reported trouble soon after it took off and was cleared to return and land at Fort Lauderdale. Firefighters fought the bursting flames in the house which the plane broke into two and landed its shell between two walls.
